Need some last-minute inspiration? Also called Frosted Cranberries or Candied Cranberries, these sweet gems add sparkle to any dish! Used them to top the Cranberry Brie Bites that I posted earlier this week or garnish holiday cocktails. Sprinkle them around a charcuterie board and the sweet, yet slightly tart flavor will complement the rich cheeses, salty nuts, and deli meats beautifully! Scatter them around a tray of Christmas cookies for more of a holiday presentation, or just snack on them like candy! These festive little treats are certain to impress, and guess what? They are super easy to make too!
Ingredients:
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup water
1 bag (12oz.) fresh cranberries
That's it!
Instructions:
1. Rinse the cranberries and discard any squishy or wrinkled ones.
2. Drain the berries and dry them gently by placing them onto a clean dishcloth.
3. Combine 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar in a medium saucepan, bring to a boil,
let it simmer on low heat for 3 minutes.
4. Stir in the cranberries to fully coat, then remove from heat and stir another minute.
5. Remove the cranberries with a slotted spoon and transfer them to a parchment-lined baking sheet to dry for one hour.
6. Roll the cranberries in the remaining sugar to coat and VOILA!!!
Enjoy!
Might be a perfect blend of sweet n tart
